I know this is an old thread which is why I didn't reply at first, but when is your wedding? I would say to first look at different websites/magazines to decide what style you like. Your friend can easily duplicate just about anything you find with a little creativity. Some ideas to consider are fresh flowers or ribbons in your colors - no one ever eats those pulled sugar confections anyway. Happy shopping! __________________ ~Jeni & Brian ~

Craft and party supply stores generally have a section of cake decorating products available. Kitchen stores may also carry some of the basics. While the regular price won’t save you a lot of money, there are some circumstances in a brick and mortar shop that benefit your wallet. Discontinued Products New cake products come out all the time, replacing the older models on the shelves. Usually the changes are only minor and the discontinued line is perfectly fine. You may find discontinued cake supplies at least half-off the original price, making them a great deal. The clearance section of your favorite craft store is a great place to look for these items. Sales Craft stores routinely place certain items on sale for a week at a time. If you’re lucky, you may find the cake decorating supplies on sale. Most stores put out an ad in the weekly paper or on their website, so keep your eyes open to those places. Stock up on your favorite supplies when they are 25 percent or more off the original price.
