Hi,

I'm planning my wedding for this summer and, in my venues search for the reception, I have found a great website : http://www.ultimatevenue.us .

There are many venues listed.

For your wedding, what kind of venues you choose? I have just booked a charming venue with a magnificent garden and a lake in Illinois.

Hello

How to Choose the Right Venue for Your Wedding Reception

step 1 Check to see if the decor of the reception hall is accommodating to the theme of your wedding. If the hall you like does not go with your theme, can it be altered with decorations?

  • Step 2 Eat in the hall. Does the reception site have their own catering service? If so, is their food any good? Dine on a test menu before you decide to use their service.
  • Step 3 Decide if you are going to use the site's service for your reception. If they are not what you are looking for, will they allow another catering service in their hall?
  • Step 4 Ask if they have a liquor license. When they do, ask if you can supply your own liquor or if they must supply it. It is usually cheaper to supply your own liquor.
  • Step 5 Find out what sort of deposit is required for the site. If you have to cancel, what is their cancellation policy and refund policy?
  • Step 6 Look to see if there is a good place to take photographs. Also check to see if there is a room for the bride and groom to change their clothes and relax.
  • Step 7 Check to see if there is a limit to the decorations you can put up and what the cleanup policy is. Many sites will have their own staff available for cleanup, at a fee of course.
  • Step 8 Drive around the building. Is there going to be adequate parking for all of your guests?
  • Step 9 Check to see if entertainment is provided. Do they have their own band or will they allow you to bring in your own band or DJ? What sort of music do they provide?
  • Step 10 Consider all the options and come to a decision with your significant other and wedding planner if you have one
  • Thanks
